.... so THATS what those are for

Dear Son,

You found your pockets today. Don't think or recall you having ever given them a notice before . . . but today in my observations of you, I caught you stuffing your little fists deep into them. I smiled and watched you in your wonderment, wondering myself how long it would be before you grew more keen to your new trick. Not long at all . . . Before I knew it there were refrigerator magnets and pieces of tissue [mom has a cold] being burrowed in those tiny spaces - and so proud you were. At one point I even spied you [unsuccessfully] giving the potato chip bag clip a go - it measures approximately five to six inches. Didnt work so much, so you just clipped it to the tail of your shirt.

While trivial perhaps it may seem to some, I am still stopped each day I get to have the pleasure of being your partner in this world of discovery. I can only marvel with the thoughts of how fantastic this new find must be for you. To have something more than your two little paws to transport treasures from point A to point B . . . well I do suppose that must be some kind of wonderful for you.

And just between we two - watching it all unfold is some kind of wonderful for me.

I love you
