Goodbye Summer

Dear Son,

Your third summer has passed us by. At barely two years old when it began, I'm not sure how much of it you will remember, so I thought it important to share a few reminders here - for when you look back later.

You watched a spectacular fireworks display on July 4th.
Your Grandma and B-Ma went with us, and you graciously gave them equal lap time.

One Saturday you managed to get your little hands on and open a bottle of medicine. I couldn't be sure that you hadn't ingested any, so we spent and afternoon in the ER.

We made a few trips to Monkey Joes

[oh how you love to say cheese!]

You went to the beach with Grandma and Grandpa, aunt Lana and Uncle Chris, and four of your cousins. Unfortunately - no one took any pictures while AT the beach. [horror of horrors!] Above are a few shots I took just before you left.

You did lots of swimming

You helped shuck [and eat!] fresh corn

You even found time to relax....

It is so wonderful to be witness to all this joy.

I love you beautiful boy.

Recap

Dear Son,

What I learned this week:

*500 tissues take up a lot more space than one would imagine

*When every tissue has been removed from a box of Kleenex, there is no way to put them all back, nomatter how hard one may try.

*You can say "I love Mommy." [Now without Mommy saying "I love YOU" first.]

All in all . . . a great week.

I love you.

Feeling Brave?

Dear Son,

I'd now like to share with you a little exchange we had today during dinner.

Me: "Luca, eat your potatoes and macaroni."
You: "Want chocolate pudding."
M: "Eat your dinner and then you may have chocolate pudding."
Y: [after taking one bite] "Chocolate pudding?"
M: "Son - you must eat your dinner before you have chocolate pudding. Do not ask me again.
Y: [after promptly taking your full plate and putting it in a sink full of water like it was the proper thing to do] Chocolate pudding mommy?

M: "No Son, I don't think you'll be having chocolate pudding for a long, long time to come."

[how can you have any chocolate pudding if you dont eat your mac and potatoes?]
