Blessings

Dear Son,

Today I sneezed. . . .

and you said "bless you."

You are remarkable.

Catch Up

Dear Son,

It has been far too long since my last letter. I haven't even managed to get your birthday party pictures posted [ask me about my camera; yes, the second one.] It has
been a busy time for both us us. [ask me about my back, and about your potty.] What I mean to say is that we've both had a lot going on, together. Nothing is more
important than you, little one - but some things, unfortunately have surpassed my updates on the priority list. [sorry.]

All that being said, I simply had to make time to share this little nugget of joy
that you blessed me with yesterday. We were sitting together in the recliner and you
were happily watching cartoons. The screen suddenly went black and from your mouth
slipped that words, "what happened?"

Excuse me, but exactly when did you learn to say "what" and not to mention "happened." Now don't get me wrong - you can say just about anything you're asked to say, that is - that you can repeat anything. But the fact that you could form the sentence "what happened" and know exactly the appropriate time to use it, was apparently lost on me.

As I sat stunned - the picture resumed . . . and without missing a beat, you gave me a thoughtful "kank yew."

priceless.
